Colvin, Bunn and Brobst Join CU Capital Market Solutions

ATLANTA (September 7, 2016) —CU Capital Market Solutions, a credit union CUSO has hired a general counsel with extensive regulatory expertise, and two highly experienced and educated professionals to provide balance sheet advisory services to credit unions.

William (Bill) Colvin was recently named general counsel for CU Capital Market Solutions. Since 2000, he has assisted in the development of innovative deposit products, brokered deposits and automated delivery systems. He also has a wide range of experience creating in-house policies and procedures for financial institutions, intellectual property strategies, and various types of service agreements, disclosure statements and third-party contracts relative to banking products and services. Colvin will provide CMS clients with regulatory policy advice, assist low-income designated credit unions as they apply for secondary capital authority, provide legal assistance regarding CMS’ specialized products and help clients prepare for ALCO committee reviews and board meetings. Colvin received his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Bill is admitted to practice in Kansas, Missouri and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Christian Brobst was named senior vice president, client strategies effective July 15.  Christian will serve credit unions in the Midwest. He was most recently an investment manager on the Fixed Income Strategies Team for Wells Fargo, managing portfolios for ultra-high net worth and institutional clients with a total book value of $1.3 billion. He will apply 16 years of investment experience to assist executives and boards as they apply CMS’ innovative products and services to maximize credit union earnings. Brobst also has experience conducting economic and market research to help clients navigate developing financial challenges. Christian has an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Cornell University.

Brian Bunn was named senior vice president, client strategies effective Aug. 29 and will serve credit unions in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Bunn is a former FDIC examiner who supervised workout solutions for failed banks during the financial crisis, and was also vice president, business planning & analysis at the $2.7 billion Coastal Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C. Most recently, he was managing director for ZM Financial Systems in Cary, N.C., where he designed new forecasting software for credit unions and banks. Bunn has an undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and an MBA from Duke University.
